The Lord is my light and my salvation

The passage of Scripture selected for today is found in Psalm 27:1: “The Lord is my light and my salvation–whom shall I fear? The Lord is the stronghold of my life–of whom shall I be afraid?” The psalmist had dedicated his life to God and enjoyed a daily walk and close communion with his Maker. He was fearless when it came to whatever man could do to him. He knew his salvation and eternal soul rested entirely with God. He need never fear that he might be left or forsaken. He had absolute faith in God, knowing that God would fulfill every promise. He had no doubts when it came to his Lord and Master. We, too, should be of the same resolve. The promises of God never change. He is the same today, tomorrow, and forever. Put your trust in Him. You will never regret this most important of all decisions. “Trust and obey, for there’s no other way to be happy in Jesus, but to trust and obey.”

Let’s determine within our hearts to show love and kindness to our fellow man. Each cost so little; yet, a willingness is essential!
