The Scripture chosen for today is found in Psalm 34:18: “The Lord is close to the brokenhearted and saves those who are crushed in spirit.” The psalmist was very close to God, daily communed with Him, and thoroughly enjoyed a close walk with His Maker. He knew God looked after His children as a devoted father does his earthly charges. When God’s children are broken and downhearted, He provides comfort for them. For us today, the Holy Spirit is our Comforter and Guide. We have only to call upon Him, and He’ll lift us up, soothes our sorrows, and calm our fears. Rely on the goodness of God, the Son, and the Holy Spirit. Put your trust in Him. You’ll never be sorry. Amen!
