The Scriptural passage for today is taken from Hebrews 4:12: “For the Word of God is living and active. Sharper than any double-edged sword, It penetrates even to dividing soul and spirit, joints and marrow; It judges the thoughts and attitudes of the heart.” Why is the BIBLE often called “The Living Word”? Well, It’s applicable in different ways at various times in life. It “speaks” to our particular situation or stage of Christian growth. It’s designed to guide us, lead us, and direct us on our spiritual journey. No other book is capable of doing those things. The early Christian writer knew of the power of the Word to change lives, to bind up wounds, to heal the sick, to comfort the grieving. We’re encouraged to read It often, commit It to memory, and listen intently to what God has to say to us through His Word. Never underestimate Its power. Amen!
