Birdie Joe Garrett, 75 of Flowood, MS passed away Sunday, January 5, 2025 at her residence in Flowood, MS. She was born Monday, March 28, 1949 in Raymond, MS.

Visitation will be held on Thursday, January 9, 2025 from 10:00am until 12:00pm at Antioch Baptist Church of Florence, 1198 Old Pearl Rd Florence, MS 39073. A Memorial service will be held on Thursday, January 09, 2025 at 12:00pm at Antioch Baptist Church of Florence. Bro. Brent Parker will officiate. Colonial Chapel Funeral Home of Mendenhall is in charge of arrangements. 601-847-4401

Birdie was a cancer survivor for many years, her journey was a testament to her resilience and unwavering faith. She was an avid flower gardener who found immense peace and happiness being outdoors. Her favorite pastime was sitting on her porch enjoying God’s many blessings and creations. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and friend. She will be deeply missed by many.

She was preceded in death by her first husband, Roger Wayne Burr; second husband Howell E. Dudley; mother, Mattie Bell Barron; sisters, Dorothy Jeanette Morrison (Joe), Willie June Jordan (Dewitt).

Survivors include her husband, Jeffrey Don Garrett; son, Charles Wesley Breeden; daughter-in-law, Kim White Breeden; grandchild, Wesley Tyler Breeden; sister, Betsy Barron White Berry (Larry); and a host of nieces, nephews, and other family.

In lieu of flowers the family request donations be made to the Cemetery Fund at Antioch Baptist Church in Florence.
