The Scriptural passage chosen for today is found in Titus 3:14: “Our people must learn to devote themselves to doing what is good, in order that they may provide for daily necessities and not live unproductive lives.” Yes! The New Testament writers, many of them who served with Jesus during His earthly ministry, knew the importance of work in order to survive. Many of them had been common laborers who knew a trade and applied it whenever time allowed or necessity demanded it. To the early Christians in the newly-established churches, those same men preached the importance of work in order to provide for themselves and their families. Today, we are urged to do the same. When we don’t provide for our families, the BIBLE tells us the person is worse than an infidel. Never let that be said of us. Strive to be diligent and hard-working. This is pleasing to God, to Christ, and to the Holy Spirit. Amen!
