The Faith of our “Little Children”

After the week when the Supreme Court usurped the authority of the Bible to define marriage, a lot of people are very upset, worried, and burdened with the direction of our nation. I hope all of us pray for our nation’s leaders, and for both our individual forgiveness and for our nation’s forgiveness in allowing the world to forget our foundation of faith.

Role models can be positive or negative.

Don’t put a lot of concern into what others think of you.

After such a hard week for Christians, we needed a reminder of the important things in life.

In our small church, we got that reminder last week during our Vacation Bible School last week. We saw 11 children accept the Lord as their Savior! Our average attendance of 45 children and 17 youth last week was small by the world’s standards, but not by God’s standards! They each came individually to express their need to Accept, Believe, and Confess!! They were excited and thrilled to pray for salvation. They touched our VBS workers as they shared their precious understanding of forgiveness and salvation. Our responsibility as Christians is to pray for each of them and guide them through the tough times ahead. We are to arm them with God’s word as a shield against the forces of evil that will surely attack them now that they have joined God’s army.

Some of these children are from Christian homes and some are not. I do not know what the future holds for them but I know that God can use them in a mighty way! As I prayed for each of these precious souls, I was reminded of the old song that said “Little is Much When God is in It”!!!   I have to wonder: If Jesus used 12 ordinary men to spread the gospel to the whole world,  what will he do with these 11 children? Join me as we pray for these and many other children as they begin their walk of faith.

“We love because he first loved us”  1 John 4:19 (NIV).

“But Jesus said, “Let the little children come to me, and do not hinder them; for the kingdom of heaven belongs to such as these.”    Matthew 19:14 (NIV)
