I think one of the best sounds in the night…is the crack of a bat when you know a homer has been hit…and the game has just been won!
Sam McWilliams and his strong teammates experienced this sound Tuesday night at Cougar field. SCA defeated Starkville Academy 7-5 in the bottom of the 7th inning.
Going into the bottom of the 7th inning, Starkville lead 5-4…but after Sam swung that bat…the game belonged to the Cougars. With a walk off three run homer…the Cougars came out on top.
Tristen Cowan hit a 2 run homer earlier in the game.
Simpson travels to Starkville Thursday night for second game in the best of 3 series.
Excellent game guys!
(In 5th Sam hit triple that scored 2 runs then Cowan hit HR scoring them to make it 4-5 in the 5th. Noah Magee came in to pitch in the 6th allowing no runs and Sam McWilliams closed the game with no hits.. In the bottom of the 7th still down 4-5 SCA got a lead off walk to Matt then base hit bunt by Hooks, Sam hits walk off 3 run HR for 7-5 victory in the first game of second round playoff to go ahead of #1 ranked AAA team Starkville. Will travel to Starkville Thursday for second game in best of 3 series.) …just a little help from a friend
