The Scriptural passage chosen for today is found in 2 Timothy 3:16-17: “All Scripture is God-breathed and is useful for teaching, rebuking, correcting and training in righteousness, so that the man of God may be thoroughly equipped for every good work.” The apostle knew that the early Christians needed constant encouragement as they faced the daunting task of living in a world of temptation and strife. As any soldier does not go into battle without being properly suited and equipped, the Christian must have the proper tools to combat the forces of evil and darkness. The Word of God is essential for the Christian. Study and application of its precepts are vital, along with the committing of Scripture to memory. We all have favorite passages and verses on which we rely when we do not have a BIBLE at hand. Let’s rely on Scripture for knowledge, instruction, reproof, and training. The Word of God for the people of God; thanks be to God. Amen!
