The Scriptural passage for today is found in 2 Timothy 3:16-17: “All Scripture is God-breathed and is useful for teaching, rebuking, correcting, and training in righteousness, so that the man of God may be thoroughly equipped for every good work.” If you’ve ever wondered precisely why the BIBLE is so important, these two verses clearly outline it. Scripture has a valid purpose, and that purpose is manifold. Teaching is, of course, the one which normally comes to mind for the Christian. The early New Testament writer takes it even farther for the new, as well as the older, converts. When we do read the Word of God, let us consider these two verses and realize the real purpose of our BIBLE. It is a Book of Instruction for the believer. Let us never underestimate its value and revere it in our homes, in our lives, and in our hearts. Amen!
