I love flowers…I guess anyone that knows me…knows that is the truth! I saw W. C. Allen today, Saturday, august 7, 2021. W. C. told me about an unusual flower growing at his home. Chuck and I made a trip to check out the August Lilly which he described as beautiful.
W. C. wasn’t joking! The August Lilly (called that by his mama) blooms in August. The Lilly is planted behind his mail box. One stalk holds over 20 blooms! The August Lilly must be a sturdy plant to withstand the heat of August.

August Lily produces fragrant, white, trumpet-shaped flowers on 2-foot stalks in late summer amid glossy, light green leaves that form large clumps. It thrives in part shade and moist, woodsy soil.
