Day 2 of remembering the past ten years….

When I “look back” over the past ten years, one of the things that really stands out is the people!  People who touched my life through MageeNews.com!  I am blessed!  Thank you to all the people who support and have encouraged the growth of MageeNews.

MageeNews.com Issues Warning About Suspicious Emails

June 19, 2026

When I informed by boys ten years ago of my plans to build a website and call the site MageeNews.com,  they both said “you have lost your mind!”  Well, I informed them “it” was my money and if I wanted to start a website I would!  Little did any of us know, ten years later we would still be tied hand and hand to a larger than life experience!  I will tell you this, the boys have retracted their statements!!!

Monday night, I visited Jimmy Clyde’s mother, Jean Ford.  Mamaw Jean is recovering from a stroke and hip surgery.  As Diana and I were heading down the hall, Jimmy Shivers came after us.  He told me how much he enjoyed MageeNews…that he started his day checking out the site.  It’s people like Jimmy that make the days’ worthwhile!  I love Jimmy Shivers!  He is one of my former students and I enjoyed teaching him English in the 9th grade at Magee.  Each student brought different things to the class…Jimmy always brought current event knowledge!  He may not have been the best at finding the subject of a sentence…but he was the best at telling the class what had happened in the world!

Jimmy was going to do a “live” Happy Birthday MageeNews video…but there was no internet at the hospital…so I settled for a picture!

I am going to share some pictures of “people” who have been a part of MageeNews.

Thanks for the memories…and thank you for being you!!!

(I just finally had to stop!!! I have so many wonderful pictures!)

Love Jimmy Shivers, my neighbor from long ago. A very kind, sweet friend.
