Entergy Mississippi presented a $1,000 Micro grant to Tech Center Principal Dr. Bo Huffman Thursday, December 8th. On hand for the presentation were Entergy Customer Service Representative Sandy Powlett, Tech Center Teacher Pamela Woodard, and Entergy representative Mike Welborn.
The grant money will be applied to Health Informatics. Teacher Mrs. Woodward explained, “the health informatics pathway introduces students to the discipline through a series of authentic projects that merge information science, computer science, and health care. Through real-world projects, students use information technology, data analysis software and statistics to address a range of health-related topics.”
Students from Magee and Mendenhall High School will be allowed to participate in the class at the Career Tech Center.
Dr. Huffman expressed his appreciation to Entergy Mississippi for making this class possible.
