Governor-Elect Tate Reeves Releases Schedule For 2020 Inauguration Celebrations

JACKSON — Today, Governor-Elect Tate Reeves released the full schedule of public events celebrating his inauguration in 2020. Mississippians and supporters from across the country will come together in our state’s capital on January 12th through the 14th to mark this historic moment. Continuing Mississippi’s inaugural traditions, the celebrations will include the swearing-in ceremony, a parade winding through downtown Jackson, the inaugural ball, and much more.

Galloway United Methodist Church has served as the church home to the Governor-elect and his family for many years. In fact, Tate and Elee were married there in 2001. What a special time to gather and pray over them as they continue on the path that God has planned for them.

Inauguration Ceremony for the 65th Governor of Mississippi

Mississippi State Capitol • 10:30 AM

Come make history! Join us during the swearing-in ceremony of Mississippi’s 65th Governor on the South Lawn of the State Capitol.

 

Inaugural Parade

Downtown Jackson • 2:00 PM

Celebrate as the state ushers in the leadership of its new Governor. The parade marches through downtown Jackson finding its way to the main stage at the Governor’s Mansion.

 

Mississippi Governor’s Mansion Open House

Mississippi Governor’s Mansion • 2:30 PM – 4:15 PM

Come visit the home that has housed Mississippi’s Governors since 1842. The Mississippi Governor’s Mansion is the second oldest continuously occupied governor’s residence in the United States. Take part in touring the mansion as our new Governor and his family begin their journey in this historic landmark.

 

Celebrate Mississippi: Inaugural Ball

Mississippi Trade Mart • 7:00 PM – 11:00 PM

Dance the night away at the Mississippi Trade Mart with Tate and Elee as we honor this historic occasion. Mississippi’s best talent will be there to celebrate as well, including Mississippi’s own Country Music Star, Randy Houser.
