Suspects Arrested for Counterfeit Currency

 

On Saturday, August 29, 2015, at approximately 2207 Hours, the Magee Police Department received a call from an individual that had just sold a silver colored Volkswagen Beetle at the Dollar General in Mount Olive for $2,000.00. He also stated that the currency used to purchase the vehicle was found to be counterfeit. The individual further stated that the vehicle would also have a black colored Buick behind it traveling North on Hwy 49.

At approximately 2208 Hours, Magee Police Officer Drew Dear saw the vehicles traveling North on Hwy 49 and initiated a traffic stop on the vehicles near the frontage road near Sears and Zips Restaurant. Other officers, Shane Fewell, Mike Davis, and Matt Sullivan immediately arrived to assist with the traffic stop. Shortly thereafter, Chiquita Robinson and Hector Robinson were found to be in possession of a $1,360.00 of counterfeit currency, a loaded SKS rifle, and two electric mini dirt bikes.

Chiquita Robinson was arrested and charged with no driver’s license, no insurance, expired tag, false information and felony possession of counterfeit currency.

Hector Robinson was arrested and charged with driving with license suspended, felony possession of counterfeit currency, and possession of a firearm by a convicted felon.

Both suspects will have holds for Mount Olive Police Department as well as Secret Service.

Magee Police Chief Randy Crawford praised the work of the officers for their quick response enabling the Police Department to solve this case and to be able to get these criminals and counterfeit currency off of the streets.

    Praise God, their families we’re looking for them. Its a good thing that they’re in jail rather than dead. Now, they’ve got to serve time for the crime that they committed, what a shame.
