The Simpson County Board of Supervisors met for their regular scheduled meeting Monday, March 1, 2021.

Bids and proof of publication for sale of junked county property was opened at 9:00 a.m. All bids were taken under advisement to determined the cheapest and best bid to be disclosed later.

Jeffery Walker, Maintenance and Transportation Director with the Simpson County School District, met with the board to discuss school bus turn arounds. The Supervisors asked for a complete list of all bus turn arounds so the road crews could do maintenance work as needed throughout the year. Walker agreed to provide the board with a complete list.

Sheriff Mullins received approval from the board for the 2021 Mississippi Sheriff’s Association dues to be paid in the amount of $1,000.00. The board approved hiring Derek Rosado as a new hire for the jail part-time. Marcus Spencer was moved from part-time to full-time.

The aboard approved the annual Supervisors’ jail and road inspection certifications.

Butler Snow Law Firm was approved as dissemination agent for the Simpson County annual continuing disclosure report annual filing for $3,000.00.

The AVG Cloud Care 12 month subscription renewal was approved for $2,380.00.

No further business the board recessed to enter in executive session to discuss employment issues.

  • Monday, March 15, 2021 – Recessed Meeting
  • Monday, April 5, 20021 – Regular Meeting
  • Wednesday, April 14, 2021 Recessed Meeting
