SR 28 CLOSED over the Pearl River at the Copiah/Simpson County Line
WHO: The Mississippi Department of Transportation (MDOT).
WHAT: Temporary CLOSURE.
WHEN: Wednesday, March 20, 2024.
WHERE: Both directions of the SR 28 bridge over the Pearl River at the Copiah/Simpson County line.
WHY: A truck struck the bridge forcing MDOT crews to shut down the bridge until it is fully inspected and repaired.
HOW: MDOT will update the public on the inspection and repair as details are determined. During the closure, motorists should seek an alternate route, including SR 27 south to U.S. 84 east, to SR 13 north back to SR 28.
