Monday morning, November 6th, damaged was discovered at the Jimmy Clyde Sportsplex. The bathrooms and concession stand building located at the high school field at the complex was vandalized. The culprits used 2X4 boards to break through the walls of the bathrooms and into the concession stand. Drinks, 4 cases of candy, bags of frozen chicken strips, and some hats and t-shirts were taken.
After damaging the concession stand, the thieves then broke into the storage shed. Apparently, when the storage shed alarm activated, the thieves scattered.
The crime is still under investigation. Questions remain as to how the criminals entered the facility.
The gates were locked.
In the words of David Dunn, “shame on you!”
(How sad is this? We have an awesome complex paid for by tax dollars that is almost the gold star of Magee and someone tears up the building for a few candy bars? Really, makes me sick!)
