Due to the resignation of City of Magee Ward 3 Aldermen Lane Steele, a special election is required to fulfill the remainder of Steele’s term.

The election will be held on Tuesday, June 20, 2023.  The Qualifying deadline is June 6, 2023 at 5 PM.

Only residents of Ward 3 will vote in the election.

Mr. Steele sighted his rapid declining health as the reason for resigning.  Steele presented his letter of resignation to the Mayor and Board of Aldermen at a workshop meeting on May 8, 2023.

Lane Steele served the City of Magee as Ward 3 Aldermen for 26 years. “I am grateful to have had the opportunity to serve alongside each of you and will continue to offer you my support,” Steele stated in his letter of resignation.
