LAUREL, Miss. – May 15, 2026 – South Central Regional Medical Center ended its hospital week by announcing Kendal Goodrich as the organization’s 2025 Employee of the Year.
This year’s finalists, who were all previously recognized as Employees of the Quarter, included:
  • Dedra Wallace
  • Kendal Goodrich
  • Sharon Meadows
  • April Myers, RN, BSN
Goodrich is a system engineer who has worked for the SCRMC Information Technology Department since 2017. He has, however, worked in the world of IT since 2003, when he began his career at Jefferson Medical.
“Goodrich is a faithful member of our team who has helped our organization navigate many changes throughout the years,” President and CEO, Gregg Gibbes said. “Kendal is a true family man and company man.”
His original nomination for HEART Champion, which qualified him for South Central’s Employee of the Quarter, was submitted by a member of the South Central Human Resources staff and was full of positive anecdotes about his work ethic, character and commitment to the organization.
“Kendal is a dedicated employee who consistently goes above and beyond to support the team and ensure success,” Chief Information Officer Danny Little said. “He takes ownership of issues, seeing them through to resolution. He has a strong work ethic and a sense of humor that lifts those around him, making even the most demanding situations more manageable. Kendal’s combination of reliability, initiative and approachability makes them an invaluable part of SCRMC.”
The celebration took place outside at SCRMC and featured plenty of fanfare, including a 30-foot banner being proudly unfurled on the side of the building.
“I would like to thank God for my ability to do what I am able to do for South Central,” Goodrich said. “I am grateful for the IT team that backs me up and makes what we do possible. I would also like to thank everyone who has supported me and had a role in nominating and voting me for this honor. And I can’t forget to thank my family for being with me, even as I’ve worked those long nights and weekends.”
SCRMC is proud to spotlight Goodrich, whose contributions continue to strengthen the organization in powerful ways.
