LAUREL, Miss. – January 12, 2025 – South Central Family Medicine is excited to welcome Katie L. Cranston, MD.
She earned her medical degree from the University of Mississippi Medical Center School of Medicine in Jackson in 2022 and then completed a family and community medicine residency from the University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center in Dallas in 2025. In addition to her medical training, Dr. Cranston also holds a Master of Public Health from the Thomas Jefferson University School of Population Health in Philadelphia and a Master of Science in Biomedical Sciences from the University of Mississippi Medical Center School of Graduate Studies in Health Sciences.
Dr. Cranston and the team at the South Central Family Medicine specialize in the treatment of chronic care conditions, including diabetes, chronic obstructive pulmonary disease, gastroesophageal reflux disease, hypertension, thyroid disease, depression, arthritis and many other conditions. They also offer the following services:
- Diagnosis and treatment of acute illnesses
- Comprehensive physical exams and laboratory testing for assessment of healthcare needs
- Defining and updating your immunization requirements
- Women’s preventive health care
- Assessing your healthcare risks and providing education on preventive lifestyle changes
