Tucker has been a superintendent’s scholar every year throughout elementary school, middle school and high school. Academics always have been a high priority to Tucker and he has earned various subject-area awards throughout the years. He has had advanced scores on all standardized state tests he has taken and has also been recognized for earning a high score on his ACT, with a score of 33. At Magee, he is a member of the Beta Club and National Honor Society, and was also selected to attend Boys State at Ole Miss this past summer. He was selected class favorite his junior and senior years. He will graduate from Magee with high honors.
Tucker loves baseball and has played since he was old enough to swing a bat. He’s a member of the Magee Trojans baseball team where he pitches and plays 3rd base. He has played for Magee for six years, lettering his sophomore and junior years. Corinth Baptist Church is the church he calls home where he’s a member of the youth group.
Tucker has earned several academic scholarships. He will attend OleMiss in the fall, majoring in Biochemistry. His future plans are to attend medical school with the goal of becoming a radiologist.
Tucker chose Chris Monk as his Star Teacher.
Chris Monk is the son of George Monk and Charlotte Mangum. His wife is Angie Floyd and they have an 8 year old daughter named Olivia. Chris and his family attend church at Corinth Baptist Church.
Chris was raised in Magee and graduated from Magee High School. He has been teaching math for 11 years. Chris has taught in Simpson County for 7 years and at Magee High School for 4 years. Chris received his degree in Secondary Math Education from the University of New Orleans and is currently pursuing his Master’s Degree from William Carey.
