Smoke @ Walgreens
Monday morning at approximately 8:30, a report came into the Magee police and fire department of smoke coming from the heating/cooling unit as well as smoke smell in the store.
The MFD dispatched 3 unites to the scene. The problem was a mechanical failure of the unit. The drive belt jumped off pulley and overheated.
Power was shut off to the unit and MFD advised Walgreen manager to have the unit repaired before turning unit back on.
If anyone smells smoke at anytime always investigate immediately and contact the police or fire department ASAP.
