The nine pastors in the Smith-Simpson County Cluster of United Methodist churches were honored with an Appreciation Supper on Sunday evening, July 16, 2017, at Magee FUMC. A highlight of the evening was the Presentation of Prayer Shawls to each pastor. The shawls were hand crocheted by ladies in the Braxton-Mendenhall Shawl Ministry.
Pastors receiving the shawls were (seated, l to r) Rev. Tommy Jennings (Magee FUMC), Rev. Lynette Little Altman (Rexford UMC), Rev. Joe Hanna (D’Lo UMC charge), Rev. Kurt Appel (Mendenhall UMC); (back, l to r) Rev. Jon Altman (Harrisville UMC), Rev. Tim Beard (Taylorsville UMC charge), Rev. Don Patterson (Braxton UMC charge), the Rev. Dr. Connie Shelton (district superintendent), Rev. Buddy Bayliss (Rials Creek UMC), and Rev. Will Dowling (Raleigh UMC charge).
