I’ve always known we had good medical care in Simpson County. Simpson General Hospital just put the icing on the cake!
SGH is one of 12 healthcare facilities in he state to receive the quality award. This title is bestowed yearly by the Chartis Center of Rural Health and the National Organization of State Offices of Rural Health.
Shana Lane, SGH Quality Director, visited with me Tuesday, November 30, 2021, and discussed the award. “The award belongs to our staff…they are the ones who worked so hard to achieve this goal,” stated Shana.
The criteria for selecting these award winners is based on the Chartis Group model which focuses on 50 individual indicators and 8 pillars of performance.
Following our award celebration, I asked Shana for an update on the vaccine situation at SGH. The drive through clinic is still in full swing…not only for vaccines but patient visits (from your car!). Anyone needing a Moderna vaccine can come by the clinic on Monday, Wednesday, & Friday. If a Pfizer vaccine is needed for your booster or first shot check with the clinic on Tuesday and Thursday. The Johnson and Johnson shot is available Monday-Friday. The clinic is located across the street from the hospital.
