Simpson County Technical Center (SCTC) is proud to feature its metal fabrication program for the month of September.
The metal fabrication program at SCTC trains students in welding, sheet metal and metal fabrication areas. The in-school shop features state-of-the art equipment and replicates an industrial environment.
SCTC’s metal fabrication program is part of the manufacturing cluster and is designed for students preparing to enter the field of metalworking. It includes an introduction to the basic machining metalworking processes, as well as an introduction to the basic welding profession.
SCTC students in the program have the option of joining SkillsUSA, a student organization for career and technical education students. Through SkillsUSA membership, students have the opportunity to showcase skills learned at various competitions at the district, state and national levels.
