Governor Reeves has canceled the state wide burn ban allowing county by county burn decisions.  Simpson County will remain under a Burn Ban until at least December 1st.  According to Magee Fire Marshal Charlie Valadie, “we have not had enough rain to completely eliminate the chance of fire.”

The Simpson County Board of Supervisors voted at their November 15, 2023 meeting to continue the Burn Ban through December 1st.

Fines for burning will still be in effect as long as the burn ban is in place.

Yesterday i called and burn band over. Now some what to be in magee says Dec 1.
I was fearful during this dry time but not now. I totally understand burn bands but our area is soaked and cardboard piling up is not good. Guess we can put boxes at road?
