Simpson County School District Appoints
Dr. Toriano Holloway as Superintendent

Mendenhall, MS (April 19, 2021) — The board members of the Simpson County School District (SCSD) today announced the appointment of Toriano Holloway, Ph.D. as the new Superintendent. Dr. Holloway is replacing Greg Paes who is retiring in June.

Dr. Toriano Holloway, newly appointed Simpson County School Superintendent, is congratulated by SCSD President Danny Cowart.

“We are excited to announce Dr. Holloway as our Superintendent for the Simpson County School District,” said Danny Cowart, Board President, Simpson County School District. “We had a total number of 16 candidates apply for the position from across the United States, Mississippi, and the SCSD. The Mississippi School Boards Association vetted and presented each candidate. After the extensive process, Dr. Holloway emerged as the best candidate to move the SCSD forward. Dr. Holloway brings the education and experience that does not require on-the-job training to begin meeting the goals set by the SCSD Board. Please join me in welcoming and supporting Dr. Holloway as the Superintendent of Simpson County Schools.”
