Simpson County School Board Recognizes Mendenhall HS & Andy Baeuerle

The Simpson County School Board met for their regular scheduled meeting, Thursday, July 8, 2021.

The board recognized Andy Baeuerele from Magee High School as being chosen as a delegate for MS Boys State who was then chosen for Boys Nation.  Andy will travel to Washington DC in the coming days. Only two students were selected from the state of Mississippi for Boys Nation.

Mendenhall High School was recognized as the only school in Mississippi and one of 22 schools in the U.S. to be awarded The 2020-2021 ACAC School of Excellence award.

The agenda and minutes were approved.

On the consent agenda permission was granted for Nick Hillman to attend Exploring Computer Science Training and Certification, July 19-23, 2021 in Oxford, and permission for Fonda Dickinson to attend Delta Kappa Gamma International, July 21-24, 2021 in San Antonio, TX.

The new county organizational chart attached below was approved.

A public relations coordinator job description and position was approved. The district office receptionist job description was approved by the board.

The board approved the certified and classified employees hand books.

Each school provided their crisis management plan that the board approved for the new school year.

Simpson County School District dropout prevention was presented to the board for the 2021-2022 school for approval.

The new Technology handbook was approved.

The June claims docket was presented to the board and approved.

The board approved the notice to the run the proposed AD Valorem Tax Effort in the paper.

The board approved the Family Medical leave policy and the Superintendent Lave Policy.

The meeting was recessed to enter executive session.
