Simpson County School Board met to discuss consolidation and purchase of properties  located at  110 Pioneer Way  in the Simpson County Business Park referred to as the Pioneer Buildings.

The meeting entered executive session due to discussion of land and purchase.

The board voted to present a proposal to the lien-holders (Trustmark and Commercial Loan Investment V1, LLC.) of both Pioneer buildings for a purchase agreement to be announced to the public in lieu of lien-holders receiving proposal.

The proposal is to make an offer to purchase the two Pioneer buildings pending passage of a Bond issue.

The board must obtain confirmation from the lien-holders for an agreement to secure the property before  option 5.0  can be presented to the public.

The board is entertaining two options to be presented to the public: Option 4.1 and 5.0. The options will require a Bond issue at a later date.

The proposal passed with a 3-2 vote.  Danny Cowart, Patrice Boykin, and Stan Bulger voted for the proposal with Lillian Hardy and Stacey Herrin opposing.
