The seminar was well attended by area businesses seeking ways to promote their business through the Internet using the correct and best tools.

SCDF Executive Director Donnie Caughman welcomed the guest and introduced the speakers.

Sassi Southern Catering (Melinda Hart) catered the meal.

The Mississippi State University Extension Service Intelligent Community Institute helps rural communities transition to, plan for, and prosper in the digital age.

Dr. Roberto Gallardo is the leader of the community institute. He spoke on the importance of rural areas having the capability for faster Internet service and the necessity to work any business online.

Dr. James Barnes’ work focuses on the economics and management of social media in agriculture and business, broadband technology adoption in rural places, rural health care, and regional economic development.

Special thanks to Simpson branch of Copiah-Lincoln Community College for hosting the seminar.
