Simpson County Deputy Jeff Smith was shot around noon Wednesday.
A bullet grazed the deputy, gunfire was exchanged wounding one of the suspects. Blackwell air lifted to UMC. Deputy treated locally
Two people have been arrested.
Christopher T. Blackwell (35-years-old)
and
Austin Matthew McGrew (21-years-old)
Charges are pending.
The burglary-in-progress was near the intersection of Willow Street and Quail Ridge Road in Braxton.
