Simpson County Board of Supervisors agreed at its last meeting to recess regular meetings to hold weekly meeting for updates on the COVID 19 situation and take  needed measures.

The board considered the emergency issues involving COVID 19. The board approved to have one entrance to all county buildings. An officer or county personnel will be placed at each entry way to screen citizens needing to enter buildings. The attached form  will be completed per visitor. All county telephone numbers will be displayed for anyone to contact which department is needed. Citizens are encouraged to visit the county web site  https://simpsoncountyms.com/how-do-i/   

The website will allow you to pay bills or obtain needed forms. Telephone numbers are available below and payments can be made over the phone.

The board discussed limited office hours and staffing. At this time, no changes will be made and will continue to operate as normal. The board will comply with all local mandates and federal law. In the event the COVID 19 worsens, the board will then make necessary changes.

A curfew for the county was discussed but the board took no action at this time for a curfew.

In other business, notary service renewal for Kathy Kennedy, Tax Office, was renewed for $158.00. The board approved  5 certified officers to attend the SCLEOTA Co-Lin refresher training class which began March 23, 2020 at a cost of $200.00 per person.

The meeting was recessed until Tuesday, March 31, 2020.
