Simpson County Board of Supervisors met Friday, December 14, 2018 for their regular scheduled meeting.
In sheriff’s business, the board approved for Joe Andrew’s to attend the NRA Rifle School.
The board approved the following as new hires:
Christopher Barron as a new part-time certified deputy, Angela Walker as a part-time certified dispatcher, Cambree McCullum as a part-time certified jailer, and Amanda Warren as a part time jailer.
The board approved to move Maurice Grubbs from full-time to part-time jailer.
The Board of Supervisors approved to hire Chris Purdum as Justice Court Defender. Pay increase for the Justice Court Defender is pending and will be voted at next board meeting.
The board approved membership in the MS Association of Supervisors Minority Caucus for 2019 in the amount of $100.00.
The following travel was approved:
Curtis Skiffer, Supervisor District 1, to attend the MS Association of Supervisors Minority Caucus annual educational conference in 2019 and
Joyce Hicks, Justice Court Clerk, to attend the Mississippi Justice Court Clerks Mid-Winter Conference in Bay St. Louis February 20-22, 2019.
No further business meeting as adjourned until January 7, 2019.
