County Administrator Board Authorizations for Monday, May 4, 2015, Board Meeting:

1.  Approve the participation and application for Federal Tiger Grant funds for a Four County Roadway Improvements Program for Copiah, Simpson, Jefferson Davis and Covington Counties.  Simpson County will request $7,500,000 for road and/or bridge construction.

2.  Approve May 10-16, 2015, to be designated as Police Week with May 15 being set aside as Peace Officer’s Memorial Day.  A special memorial service at the Simpson County Courthous will be held on Thursday, May 14, 2015 at 7:00 pm.

3.  Approve the advertising and promotion of county resources to bring favorable notice to Simpson County by sponsoring the Simpson Central Archery team to participate in the National Archery Championship in the amount of $1,500.00.

4.  Approve the advertising of County Resources in the Mendenhall High School 2015 Football Program with a full page advertisement for $115.00.

5.  Approve the advertising of County Resources in the Simpson Academy Football Program with a full page advertisement.

6.  Approve moving the Sumrall Voting precinct from Kennedy Springs Baptist Church to the Fire Station 7 Substation at 2129 Simpson Hwy 540, Magee, Ms. 39111.  to authorize the Election Commissioners and Circuit Clerk to make necessary changes to the voter rolls; and for the Circuit Clerk to mail the appropriate notices to the affected registered voters.

7.  Approve entering into an election lease agreement with Fire Station 7 for use of the facility for county elections.

8.  Approve the construction of a concrete parking and walkway for ADA handicapped access at the Fire Station 7 substation for the voting precinct in the amount of $2,700 for forms, labor, concrete, and finishing from WIlliam Berry, K & W Concrete works.  This improvement for handicapped access is considered to be commensurate with the term of the lease for use of the facility for election purposes.

9.  Approve applicable travel, registration, lodging, and meals for:

A. Rhuel Dickinson, County Administrator, to attend continuing education programs on May 19, 2015, in Ridgeland, MS and May 27, 2015 in Hattiesburg, Ms and authorize immediate issuance of checks for registration fees.

10.  Acknowledge and Record in the Board Minutes:

A. FEMA and MEMA Closeout Letter for the Hurricane Katrina Disaster, FEMA-1604-DR-MS #127-99127-00, Simpson (County) BOS dated March 23, 2015.

B. AMR March 2015 Response Compliance Report

C. Approval of Pearl River Basin Development District Grant to the City of Mendenhall for a soil erosion project as requested by the Simpson County Board of Supervisors.
