Board President Danny Craft called the meeting to order followed by prayer and the Pledge of Allegiance.
All board members were in attendance.
Simpson county resident Booker T. Woodward was on the agenda but not attend.
County engineer Greg Bonds reported road projects are moving along. Greg is in the process of completing the ticket for cost of emergency repairs owed to the county by P. L. Wallace company.
Tax assessor Jamie Brewer had no report.
Sheriff’s report:
Preparations have begun for the retirement of Montana the bloodhound, asset number 3830, due to age. She has been in service since December 1, 2016. Additional paperwork is required before the retirement of Montana is complete. Sheriff Mullins expressed appreciation to area agencies who assisted in the preparation for the Saturday, May 15, 2025, storm.
Charlie Welch presented an update on the possible purchase of a generator for the first floor of the Court House. Three bids were presented with Shivers Electric as the low bid ($53,780). Following discussion, the Board felt additional items should be considered with the project. The adjustments will be made, and cost reevaluated. There are no more major leaks at the Courthouse. New ceiling tiles are scheduled to be replaced in certain areas of the Courthouse.
Board President Danny Craft reminded everyone of the Great Simpson County Clean Up scheduled for March 22nd from 8-12.
Danny Craft signed a proclamation showing the Board’s support.
