Simpson County Board of Supervisors met Monday, December 7, 2015 at 9:00 am.

Meeting was called to order and minutes were approved.

Buddy Wolverton submitted his report for approval.

JM Hooker/Road Manager – gave his monthly report to the board for approval.

Price Wallace, Election Commissioner, came before the board to present electronic tablets that could be used to pull voter list and assist poll workers in election. The tablet would contain all voters register and what precedent they are assigned to vote in. The use of the tablets would reduce the number of poll workers needed on Election Day. The board was interested in the tablets and tabled the vote to purchase. Mr. Wallace will provide at the next meeting the number of workers, which the tablet system could save in paying poll workers verses cost of purchasing the tablets.

Sheriff’s Department did not have any new business at this time. Mr. Dickinson acknowledged and presented the certification the jail had received.

Rhuel Dickinson, County Administrator, gave his report and it was as follows:

  1. Honorable Noah Sanford, Representative Elect, District 90.
  2. Consider the request of the City of Magee to assist in cleaning our the ditch from the Sase Apartments at 647 Raleigh Drive NE due to water not draining properly from the driveway of the apartment complex which is located on a State Aid Road.
  3. Consider the damage claim of Chris Jones for damage to his vehicle wheels and rites due to roadside erosion on Shivers Road on or about 11-19-15.
  4. Approve the renewal of membership dues in the Mississippi Association of Supervisors Minority Caucus in the amount of $100.00 for Curtis Skiffer.
  5. Approve applicable travel, registration, lodging, an meals for:
  6. Election Commissioners and the Circuit Clerk to attend the ECAM Annual elections seminar and training event in Philadelphia, MS on January 20-22, 2016.
  7. Authorize the claims and immediate issuance of checks for the followings:
  8. Lawanda Allen of Cordova, Tennessee for $238.95 for the damage claim approved on 10-15-2015.
  9. Acknowledge and Record in the Board Minutes:
    1. Simpson County Park Commission Accountant’s compilation report for September 30, 2015 and October 31, 2015.
    2. Mississippi Tort Claims Board Certificate of Coverage for November 12, 2015 through November 12, 2016.
  10. Consider the issuance of negotiable notes in accordance with Sections 17-21-51/55.

No further business and meeting was recessed until Tuesday December 15, 2015.
