Simpson County Board of Supervisor meeting began with Danny Welch leading in prayer.

Linda Wolfe, Simpson County Citizen addressed the Board with a complaint regarding on a fence on county property.

Ronald Murphy, Simpson County Citizen also addressed the Board with a request for assistance regarding purchasing a car tag and an unpaid solid waste bill.

The meeting began with Buddy Wolverton, County Engineer, giving the report of the Status of State-Aid, Federal-Aid & LSBP Projects.

Buddy Wolverton reports that CN Railroad is to install new lights and gates at the end of Athens Road and Coat Road’s bridge is due a water inspection.

J. M. Hooker, Road Manager,  gives a monthly report including the Bus turnarounds and Easements.

Buddy Wolverton, Jr. presented the report regarding SAP-64(16)S, Roads “A” – “F” in Simpson County, Ms.  The following Contractors have been issued plans and proposals from my office, on the

referenced project: 1.  Vance Brothers, Inc. P.O. Box 300107  Kansas City, MO  64130  submitted a bid of $517,395,95

                                    2. T. L. Wallace Construction, Inc.   808 Hwy 98 Bypass   Columbia, Ms. 39429 submitted a bid of $417,917,87.

T. L. Wallace Construction, Inc. was awarded the contract.

The Opening of the Sealed bids on the Jake Barnes’ house and land was opened and presented.  Three bids were submitted; Randy Breeland @ $16,010.00, Tommy Holyfield @ $16,200.00 and Bud Brooks with a bid of $16,510.00.   The house and land was awarded to the highest bidder, Bud Brooks.

Rhuel Dickinson, County Administrator, presents the following report:

1. Approve the request of the City of Mendenhall to apply for a grant from the Pearl River Basin Development District to help correct flood control measures at a drainage ditch near 1831 Simpson Hwy 149, Mendenhall.

2. Discuss the budget analysis of the Road Department.

3,Approve the payroll authorization form for Matthew McKinley, Solid Waste Department, for salary adjustment after the end of the probationary period.

4. Approve the MDEQ Grant Agreement Modification for the Local Government Solid Waste Assistance Program for the Simpson County Solid Waste Management Plan in the amount of $28,404.00

5. Approve applicable travel, registration, lodging, and meals for:

A. Election Commissioner, Kevin Jones, to attend the Election Commissioner Association of Mississippi Workshop in Hattiesburg, Ms on May 11, 2015.

B. Justice Court Clerk, Kim Jackson, to attend the Justice Court Clerks Spring Conference in Bay St. Louis, Ms. on May 6-8, 2015

6. Acknowledge and Record in the Board Minutes:

A. Redistricting Support Agreement for the SEMS system for the Circuit Clerk’s Office in the amount of $1,680.00.

B. Renewal of the Certificate of Coverage from the Mississippi Tort Claims Board for March 5, 2015 through March 4, 2015.

C. Simpson County Parks & Recreation Accountant’s Compilation Report for the Month of February, 2015.

D. Randall Coleman, Constable, 2014 annual financial report.

E. Receipt of the Audit Report fo the Simpson County Financial Statements for the Fiscal Year Ended September 30, 2013 and notice that the Audit Report is on file in the Chancery Clerk’s Office and

is available in the Public Libraries of Simpson County for public inspection and copy.
