During the regular scheduled Board of Supervisors meeting Monday, February 6, 2017, all reports from each division were given and approved along with minutes.

Sheriff Donald O’Cain asked the board for approved to hire a part time dispatcher. The previous motion to move Jamie Freeman to dispatch was rescinded after verification Freeman could still work as a full time deputy until he is medically released and can obtain his certification. Sheriff asked permission for two officers to attend conference February 21, 2017 at a cost of  $599.00 per person. Permission was requested to pay the Sheriff Association Membership of $115.00.

Ben Warren, Road Manager, gave a report on the expenses of the previous ice storm. The board approved purchasing 2 pieces of equipment, salt spreaders,  which will be cost sufficient in spreading salt in the next event of another weather related situation. Warren asked permission and board approved  hiring two employees, Mark Thames and Johnny Hobbs.

Bids,  proof, and publication to purchase supplies and material were opened at 10:00 AM today, February 6, 2017.   Due to numerous competitive bids, the bids will be taken under advisement until next board meeting.

District 2 Supervisor, Danny Craft, thanked all supervisors, law enforcement, emergency personnel and anyone who helped and assisted with the tornado relief in the Pine Grove community the previous month.

With no further business meeting was recessed.
