Simpson County Board of Supervisor Meeting

Simpson County Board of Supervisors meeting was held on Monday January 4, 2016 at 9:00 am. First order of business was to elect new officers. Randy Moore, District 5 Supervisor, was elected President and Curtis Skiffer, District 1 Supervisor, was elected Vice President.

Minutes were approved.

New and Rehire County Employees were named and approved.

Buddy Woolverton, County Engineer, gave his report which was approved.

JM Hooker, Road Manager, gave his report and it was approved.

Angela Hampton with DHS was present to explain the modifications being made to the Snap Program.

Donald O’Cain, Sheriff, was present and spoke to the board of  his plans and expectations for the county.

Charles Baldwin, Tax Assessor-Collector, gave the tax report and it was approved.

Tommy Joe Harvey, Chancery Clerk, recognized Steve Womack Certificate of Attendance December 7, 2015 for the Circuit Clerk Orientation.

Rhuel Dickinson, County Administrator, gave his report which was approved as follows:

  1. Approve the payroll authorization for the Sheriff’s Office.
  2. Consider the request of the Simpson County Election Commission regarding the purchase of Tables and software for voting purposes.
  3. Consider membership in the National Association of Counties in the amount of $550.00 for 2016.

All Bids and Proof of Publication yearly term bids were open at 10 am. All bids were opened and names were given. Bids will be reviewed and  discussed at the next board meeting.

Bids and Proof of Publication – county depositories were open at 10 am. Names and interest rates were given. Bids will be considered  and approved at next board meeting on the 15th.

No further business meeting was recessed until next meeting on the 15th at 8:30 am. (Please note time change for January 15th meeting.)
