Sheriff Donald O’Cain reports arrests for the first week of 2016

Sheriff Donald O’Cain reports that on 01/07/2016 that Simpson County Deputy Jim Blakney conducted a traffic stop on a Chevy Caviler for improper turn and improper equipment at the intersection of East St and Hwy 13. The driver was identified as Samantha Meek W/F DOB 10-10-1975 and passenger Travis Williams W/M DOB 06/15/1980. During the course of the investigation both Meek and Williams were arrested for possession of Methamphetamine. Meek was also charged with DUI Other Substance, DWLS and possession of Paraphernalia.
Sheriff Donald O’Cain reports that on 01/07/2016 that Simpson County Sheriff’s Office received a tip from an anonymous caller. The caller advised that Samantha R. Nichols was at her grandfather’s house located at 146 Nichols Drive in Mendenhall. Nichols is currently on Rankin County’s Top 12 most wanted list for Grand Larceny. Simpson County Deputies went to 146 Nichol’s Drive and apprehended Samantha Nichols without incident.
