Jeffery Walker announced Simpson Central Archery had won the State Title in Archery for another year! Coach Crain and Walker serves as coaches.
20-21 Year was a different one. Competition was done virtual due to COVID at each local school site. Simpson Central won 1st place in South State and State in the 1A and 2A class division.
Simpson Central has won the state title for 9 straight years with 16 Championship titles between Elementary and Middle School. The team has has not been defeated in 9 years. Simpson Central holds more state titles in archery than any other school.
Nyla Sanders a 6th grader at Simpson Central won top archer in the elementary division.
Coach Walker has coached the teams since 2013. This will be his last year as a coach. In the previous years under his helm the teams have won 9 State Titles, placed 34th in the nation their first year, 18th the next, and 6th the following. Walker holds a 5th place ranking in the World Championship in Orlando, FL.
Walker quoted “Thanks to all the students that I have had the opportunity to coach. It was all about you. But also keep it going.”
