By Coach Chase Courtney

“Jefferson county was a struggle for us. I think we had to overcome some demons. We got put out last year there in the second round. There was also breaking a barrier for this group. They went to the 3rd round as freshman but have never played for a south state championship. We were really bad offensively, but the defense bailed us out. Credit Coach Milloy for having an incredible plan that was executed almost to perfection.

On to Noxubee. This is a team that has been the standard of 3a football as far as consistency for going on 2 decades. Since 2008 they have won 5 state championships and played for it 4 out of the last 5 years. They feature a top 10 nationally ranked quarterback who is an MSU commit. He picked up an offer from Georgia last week. They average 37 points per game and only give up 13… They have been ranked #1 all year. We need a great week of practice and a packed and loud Trojan field Friday night.”
