Simpson Central Students Honor Unsung Heroes with Appreciation Brunch

On Wednesday, March 9, three student groups at Simpson Central School held an Unsung Heroes Appreciation Brunch to honor those who have done great deeds for the school but receive minimum recognition.

Organized by Simpson Central School’s Student Council, Future Business Leaders of America and Culinary Club, students served brunch and presented honorees with a Certificate of Appreciation for their diligent efforts, commitment and dedication to ensuring all students at Simpson Central are on a path to success.

Individuals and organizations recognized included office, custodial, child nutrition, transportation, instructional support, school support and district support staff; district-level administrators; school board members; and community adopters and supporters.

“This was a great opportunity to have our student leaders facilitate efforts and show appreciation to those individuals whom are often time not formally recognized,” said Dr. Antionette Woodall, principal. “Our goal at SCS is to provide exposure for students in various areas of interest, while helping them to become well-rounded students. The student groups worked really hard to make this day a success, and the students in the Culinary Connection at SCS helped make the day a success by way of meal preparation under the leadership of their sponsors Dr. Woodall and Ms. Felicia Moore.”

This program was sponsored by Southern Pine Electric, the Rho Iota Zeta chapter of Zeta Phi Beta Sorority Inc., and New Day Ministries of Alabama – all community supporters of Simpson Central.
