Simpson Baseball wins District 3 AAAA Championship with a 11-1 victory over Copiah

Simpson Academy Baseball team brought home the District 3 AAAA Championship Tuesday night, April 23, 2019 with a win over the Copiah Colonels.

Simpson played Silliman Institute from Clinton, LA last week.

Simpson 14 Silliman 3-Getting hits for Simpson were Andrew Smith a double and two singles, Brentley Berry a double, a single, and 2 RBI’s, Caleb Garner two singles and 2 RBI’s, Bowen Kelly a double, a single, and a RBI, Lawton Kennedy a double and a RBI, Mason Kennedy a single and 2 RBI’s, and Noah Magee a grand slam homerun and 4 RBI’s.

Pitching for Simpson were Caleb Garner 2 innings with 2 strikeouts, Andrew Smith 2 innings with 3 strikeouts, and Noah Magee 1 inning with 3 strikeouts. The win improved Simpson’s record to 20-4 on the season.

JV Game

Simpson defeated Silliman 8-2.

Simpson will travel to Copiah Academy on Thursday, April 25, playing a varsity doubleheader starting at 4:00 p.m. The Cougars will start the playoffs on the road with the first game of a best of three series on Tuesday, April 30, opponent and time TBA.
