After a tough setback against Columbia Academy the week before, Simpson Academy found redemption Friday night with a hard-fought 41-35 win over the Wayne Academy Jaguars. The Cougars’ offense came alive, posting their highest point total of the season to secure the victory.
The victory evens Simpson’s record at 2-2, while Wayne Academy drops to 1-3.
The defeat also brought an end to the Jaguars’ four-game home winning streak that dated back to last year.
Both teams will travel for their next contests. Simpson Academy heads to Lamar on Friday for a 7 p.m. kickoff, while Wayne Academy looks to rebound against Christian Home Educators Fellowship at 7 p.m.
