Shivers Construction ,owned by Allison and Luke Shivers ,was chosen as the 2023 business of the year by the Simpson County Development Foundation.  The award was presented  by board member Amarilys Carter at the SCDF annual membership meeting.

Simpson Co-Lin Community College was named Community Partner of the Year. Upcoming President of Co-Lin Community College Dr. Dewayne Middleton accepted the award presented by Darrell Temple.

Mendenhall native Mike Monk, CEO of theCentral Mississippi Planing and Development District, presented an over view of services offered by the CMPDD as well as activities Simpson County is participating in through the CMPDD.

SCDF Executive Director Pat Brown spoke on ways the foundation is searching for business for our county.  “No lead is too small, let us know…I will follow through,” stated Brown.  Mr. Brown has  been the director since January 1, 2023.

Outgoing President Josh Pierce thanked the members for allowing him to serve as President and plans to continue  involvement with the Foundation and introduced incoming President Carley Cockrell.
