Shirley Jean Purser passed away on Friday, June 20, 2025, at MS Baptist Hospital surrounded by her family. She was born to James Vardaman and Reatha Virdue Sullivan on May 27, 1942, in Magee, MS.

Shirley graduated from Magee High School and later married Paul Douglas Purser. They were married for fifty-eight years before his passing in 2021. Throughout the years of raising their four boys, she worked for the City of Magee before opening Christmas Unlimited in downtown Magee. She loved having her store and was known for her beautiful Christmas decorations.

She is preceded in death by her husband, Paul, along with her parents, James and Virdue; her sister, Mary Ann Ainsworth; her brother, Billy, and grandson, Sullivan.
