Sherri Carr Bevis to serve as Assistant Secretary of State for External Marketing

Jackson, MS—Secretary of State Delbert Hosemann is pleased to announce Sherri Carr Bevis has been promoted to serve as Assistant Secretary of State for External Marketing.  She has served as the South Mississippi Service Coordinator since 2013.

“Sherri is a tireless worker with extensive experience and personal skills and personality which will continue to expand the knowledge of our office and its duties to the public,” said Secretary of State Delbert Hosemann.

As Assistant Secretary of State for External Marketing, Sherri is responsible for the marketing efforts by the Secretary of State’s office.  Additionally, she will continue to serve as a liaison for the agency in the Gulf Coast region.

“It has been a privilege to work with Secretary Hosemann and this agency for the past two and a half years as the service coordinator for South Mississippi,” said Bevis.  “Moving forward, I am extremely honored and excited about this new role as we work together to share our message and mission with the entire State.”

Sherri has spent most of her life on the Mississippi Gulf Coast.  She graduated from Mississippi State University with a Bachelor of Arts in Communications.  While working in Washington, D.C., for Senator Trent Lott, she received a Masters Degree in Higher Education Administration from George Washington University.

Sherri currently lives in Diamondhead.  She is actively involved in the Gulf Coast community serving on the boards of United Way of South Mississippi, Gulfport Rotary Club and Gulfport Business Club. Sherri is passionate about her alma mater and is a dedicated alumnus.  She is extremely proud of her two sons, Nolan and Nicholas, both students at Mississippi State University.
