On Monday, June 24, 2019, Circuit Judge Eddie Bowen ruled Simpson County Sheriff Donald O’Cain must remain on disability leave.

Judge Bowen reviewed the evidence on O’Cain’s medical condition and told the sheriff he would not be allowed to return to duty until he is released by the doctors and the court.

O’Cain will remain on paid leave with full benefits until the end of the year.
