The Scriptural passage for today is found in Isaiah 55:6-7: “Seek the Lord while He may be found; call on Him while He is near. Let the wicked forsake his way and the evil man his thoughts. Let him turn to the Lord, and He will have mercy on him, and to our God, for He will freely pardon.” The prophet of old was charged by God to confront the people with their sins, encourage them to turn from their wicked ways, place their trust in the one true God, and reject the idols made of gold, silver, and precious stones. God is jealous and wishes to have full communion with His creation, His children. He never changes with the passing age and wishes the same allegiance with and from us today. “And He walks with me, and He talks with me. And He tells me I am His own. And the joy we share as we tarry there, none other has ever known.” The hymn “In the Garden” so beautifully captures the essence of that close communion we children of God should want to experience with the Creator. Everyone should experience the joy of salvation offered freely to all. Don’t delay in doing so.
